A Virtual PD for Cultivating Cultural Responsiveness in School Leaders Problems

A new semester has started for educators, administrators and school leaders across the country. We've seen firsthand the challenges and obstacles school leaders have overcome this year, and we want to help you continue to overcome them.

As advocates for equity in education, we want to provide you with the opportunity to gather with school leaders across the country to learn and grow in cultural responsiveness. We've teamed up with Educator, Curriculum Designer, and Author of Cultivating Genius: An Equity Framework for Culturally and Historically Responsive Literacy, Dr. Gholdy Muhammad, to bring you an interactive experience to explore what it means to lead courageously as a culturally responsive leader.

In our virtual, professional development training, Culturally Responsive Leaders Cultivating Genius, Dr. Gholdy Muhammad will join CRSL experts Dr. Muhammad Khalifa and Dr. Katie Pekel to discuss common challenges school leaders face when encouraging equity in their schools. School leaders will be able to interact and learn from each other as we discuss topics such as:

  • The Historical Nature of the Context of Race in Schools
  • Epistemological Understandings of Community Engagement vs Community Empowerment
  • How Courageous Leadership Arises from Critical Self-Reflection

We want you to walk away from our virtual PD with a better understanding of how to build a culturally responsive school environment for your students.
